The journey takes in stunning scenery from the fields of the Canterbury Plains to the spectacular gorges and river valleys of the Waimakariri River then your train climbs into the Southern Alps travelling through 19 tunnels, over 5 viaducts before decending through lush beech forest to the West Coast and the town of Greymouth.
